Today we welcome California State Senator Nancy Skinner of the 9th California Senate District, which covers the eastern San Francisco Bay. Nancy has been in elected office since she became the only University of California, Berkeley student to win a city council seat as a student. She also served in the California Assembly in the late 2000s so she has the perspective from when budget negotiations were very difficult. She discusses those days, how her bill to get student-athletes paid led to Name, Image, & Likeness deals, and other issues in California, such as housing and energy policy, and what she is excited about this term.
